You’re a young vampire in a big city. Sounds like fun, right?

Maybe it would be, if your maker - the one who turned you from human to vampire - wasn’t currently on their death bed. An ancient ritual is the only way you can save them.

They’re relying on you now. It’s up to you to explore this new, dangerous place and find the components for the spell.

Each one is held by a powerful member of the community.

Find them, and save your maker’s unlife.

FRESH BLOOD is a solo journaling game created with the Firelights Creator Kit by Fari RPGs.

To play this game, you will need the following materials:

✦ A standard deck of cards without any jokers. You will use this as a way to guide the story, and its challenges. This is your Story Deck. When you use a card, discard it.

✦ Two six-sided dice. You will use these to perform actions in the narrative, and get answers about the city. These are your Action Dice.

✦ A notebook to act as your Diary for log entries.

✦ Index cards, sticky notes or random slips of paper.

✦ A token of some sort (coin, poker chip, etc.).

Content & Safety

Solo journalling games can make for rich, immersive experiences, but can also create situations that prompt intense emotions and imagery that may not be completely comfortable to work with.

Horror games and vampires in particular are associated with many potentially disturbing topics.

This game features themes such as blood drinking, dark magic, religious themes, demons, supernatural creatures and abilities, preying on and hypnotising others, violence and death. Blood is also used as part of a game mechanic.

If you feel uncomfortable at any time during play, stop playing and take a break. Decide if you want to continue, either with the current action or by beginning a new one. Your safety and health should remain a top priority when playing any game, whether alone or with friends.

Hello, just wanted to make sure by sum/adding action dice, do you mean to add them together? What happens if you roll something below 11, which is where the city table starts? I’m also not exactly sure how threats/when threats would come up. Also, when doing Action+Approach, does approach mean we are exploring part of the city? (Versus action + beguiling). I know the second part is supposed to be a modifier but I don’t see any stat called ‘Approach’.

Hi there! You add the dice together only when performing actions. The city table is a d66 table that should be rolled on separately - you do not add the dice together for this, but read them as they land. For example if you roll a 3 and a 5 then you would have 35 (if you look down the number column you'll see it goes 11-16, 21-26, etc. which are the only combinations that can be achieved by reading the dice as a 2 digit number). You can roll once and take a whole row together or roll for each column to get more varied results.

Threats appear as part of the Sate Your Hunger action (which you need to do every day).

There are 3 approaches on your character sheet - Violent, Beguiling & Stealthy. You choose which approach to use for the action you are taking, if it doesn't mention one specifically. For example if you Take a Risk, you could be smashing through a window (Violent) or trying to talk your way out of something (Beguiling).

Hope this helps!

Hi! Sorry to bother you.  Is possible to have some community copies? Thanks in advance!

Hi there, thanks for your interest in my game! I've added a few more community copies this morning. I would love it if you could leave a rating and review after you play!

Sure!! Thanks!!

Thanks for making a printer-friendly version. I play with a tablet, and those are actually easier on my eyes.
