Thus Spake Agathis is inspired by the near total decimation of the Kauri forests in New Zealand as a result of European colonisation in the 18th and 19th centuries, along with the Kauri tree's profound place in Māori mythology as connected to the spiritual realm.

Our treasure-hunters may be from any and all walks of life, but each have heard tell of the ancient Agathis tree that lies deep within the dark, densely packed forest. Rumours swirl that it is so tall it provides a literal path to the heavens above, if you can survive the climb. Others speak of enlightenment, of secret knowledge, terrible magic, and long-hidden treasure. Whichever is true, none who have sought to find Agathis have ever returned.

Thus Spake Agathis can be used with the setting provided in the Trophy Dark core rules, but is also flexible enough to be dropped in to any setting that involves a mysterious forest. The Trophy Dark core rules are required to make use of this incursion.
